This is the kind of post that the big boss wouldn’t want me blogging about, so don’t be surprised if it’s not here in a week or two, you’ll know why! There is a way to play and win at mobile slots and although the games are largely built on luck and chance, there are ways of improving your ‘luck’. All you need is the right knowledge and an understanding of how these machines really work.

Choose the right slot for you

Your first step is choosing the right machine. If you don’t choose the right fruit machine to begin with, you’ll be in danger of chasing a win that will never happen. Some people might tell you that there is no way to be sure if you are playing on the ‘right’ machine but there are a few pointers that can at least give you a fighting chance. When looking at the machines payout table,  decide how much you are willing to bet in that session (and stick to it) and look how many winning combinations the machine is offering. If the proportion of winning combinations is at least 50% of the amount of coins you are willing to bet, then it’s worth a go. If not, then good luck and I hope you get the Jackpot. Not every spin will win

We all know that you can’t always win. There will be times when your winnings will go from ‘not too bad’ to ‘Sh*t! Where did that cash go?’. The trick is to make sure you’re in a position to ‘weather the storm’ without doing too much damage to your betting allowance (very important to have a betting allowance). Drop your stake, take a break or choose another ‘low payout’ machine. Your luck will change.

Understand the slots cycle

After working in this industry for a while and analysing how people play, there are two main categories of players.

• People that play for entertainment and are less interested in big wins
• People that play to win big

The best category  is the third one.  This category of player swings between solely playing for entertainment but also recognising there is a profit to be made. When ‘category 2 players’ make a big win, they will continue to play for another big win. At this point you should hold back from chasing a jackpot and simply play for entertainment. What did your parents always say when you asked for more and more? ‘Don’t push ya luck‘

If the slot isn’t fun, ditch it.

The most important tip is if you are not enjoying playing slots and it’s causing you stress, panic attacks or nightmares then you shouldn’t be playing. Losing a game is no reason to get depressed if you are playing it right. You should think of your losses as simply the cost of the game and your entertainment. Nothing in life is free, no matter what Luther and Janet try and tell you. One blog I read on this subject described losing as ‘the price you paid for a few hours of fun’. If you have stuck to your betting allowance (yes, I have mentioned it again because it’s that important) and you have not over spent, then any losses you have should not affect anything other than your winnings.
